Sr. Engineer Mechanical Engineering XI - Hydraulic Piping SME

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development

• Lead piping system design for CDU-based single-phase and two-phase liquid cooling systems.
• Create 3D models, assembly layouts, and manufacturing drawings using CAD tools (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.).
• Develop P&IDs, isometric drawings, and BOMs.
• Optimize piping layouts for flow efficiency, reduced pressure drop, and minimal vibration.
• Select appropriate materials, fittings, valves, hoses, and connectors considering corrosion, thermal performance, and cost.
• Incorporate leak prevention, ease of maintenance, and assembly feasibility.
• Expertise in DFA, DFM, DFMEA, GD&T aspects.
• Knowledge of corrosion, scaling, SS material, and metallurgical properties.

Analysis & Validation

• Perform or oversee flow analysis (CFD) and thermal-hydraulic calculations for sizing pipes, hoses, and manifolds.
• Apply stress analysis for pressure, vibration, and thermal expansion.
• Support prototype builds and validation testing (pressure, burst, leak, vibration tests).

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain design documentation including specifications, test reports, and compliance checklists.
• Ensure compliance with ASME B31.3/B31.9, ISO 9001, RoHS, and data center cooling standards.
• Support technical reviews, DFMEA, and design approval processes.

Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work with mechanical, electrical, controls, and manufacturing teams for integration and optimization.
• Collaborate with suppliers for sourcing, manufacturability, and cost optimization.
• Provide technical guidance to installation, service, and commissioning teams.
