Snowflake Administration

Job Overview:

• The Snowflake Platform Administrator is tasked with the management, security, and support of the Snowflake data platform across various business sectors.
• This position emphasizes platform administration, access governance, integration facilitation, and operational assistance to guarantee reliable and compliant data ingestion and replication throughout enterprise systems.
• By collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders, the administrator ensures smooth data flows between Snowflake and integrated platforms, including Kafka, Confluent Cloud, ADLS, and other downstream systems.
• At a senior level, this role also plays a vital part in platform optimization, performance tuning, cost efficiency, and governance enforcement, all while supporting scalable and secure data platform operations in multi-cloud environments.

Core Responsibilities:

• Serve as the Snowflake Platform Administrator within the client ecosystem.
• Oversee the administration, governance, and operational stability of the Snowflake platform.
• Facilitate data onboarding through standardized integration patterns in Snowflake.
• Ensure adherence to RBAC, SSO security, and audit controls.
• Assist onboarding teams with the creation, configuration, and validation of connectors.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to maintain a secure and scalable architecture for the Snowflake platform.
• Possess knowledge of Terraform, as a few Terraform scripts are utilized.
• Demonstrate the capability to understand and write stored procedures.
• Exhibit familiarity with Python and JavaScript.
• Have experience with GitHub and Jira.
• Manage roles at the Snowflake account level, database level, schema level, and object level using the RBAC model, including roles, role hierarchy, and grants.
• Administer Azure AD SSO group mappings, SCIM, and OAuth integrations for automated user provisioning and access management.
• Maintain domain-based role structures and database configurations, ensuring segregation for DEV, QA, and PROD environments.
• Oversee access lifecycle management, including granting and revoking roles and privileges through ServiceNow workflows, while ensuring updates to compliance documentation.
• Support the management of Snowflake object lifecycles, including databases, schemas, tables, views, stages, tasks, and streams.
• Assist in data platform onboarding and enablement, including schema setup, access provisioning, and initial environment configuration.
• Manage configurations for data access and sharing, including secure data sharing, external integrations, and role-based access segregation.
• Enforce RBAC policies across account, database, schema, and object levels to ensure domain-based access segregation.
• Collaborate with Security teams for firewall rules, VPN approvals, and access governance.
• Engage in data validation and quality assurance.
• Provide monitoring and incident support.
• Prepare and maintain Snowflake Solution Design Documents, integration templates, and knowledge base articles for access and onboarding.

Technical Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in Snowflake platform administration.
• Manage day-to-day administration of Snowflake environments, including databases, schemas, and warehouses.
• Oversee compute warehouses for scaling, performance, and cost optimization.
• Ensure platform stability, availability, and operational efficiency.
• Handle incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Snowflake schemas, RBAC permissions, and Azure ADLS PrivateLink networking.
• Understanding of data mesh and domain-driven architecture.
• Experience with VPNs, proxies, SSH tunnels, and static IP configurations.
• Coordinate with Infrastructure and Networking teams.
• Monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines.
• Manage incidents and changes effectively.
• Experience with Snowflake and Confluent Kafka is a strong asset.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
• Experience in Agile environments and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow workflows.
• Exposure to the data world and Manta.
