Job Description
Cradlepoint is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Lead with strong networking fundamentals and practical experience in system-level infrastructure and operations/management capabilities. We are looking for an individual with hands-on experience building and supporting robust network systems and platform-level services. You will be a vital member of our agile team, contributing to the full lifecycle of switch and router product development.
What You Will Do: Key Responsibilities
- Develop & test switch router products, ensuring high quality and performance.
- Work effectively in an agile team as both a developer and a tester.
- Be responsible for feature designing, coding, unit testing, feature testing, regression testing, automation test scripts, document writing, and product maintenance.
- Networking & Routing Expertise:
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of networking and distributed computing concepts.
- Be proficient in Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols, including MPLS, Multicast, OSPF, BGP, VLAN/VTP, etc.
- Possess a solid grasp of routing principles and client-server architecture.
- Exhibit excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills in complex networking environments.
- Infrastructure Services (Infra):
- Gain experience in designing and building system-level services.
- Focus on designing and developing platform services such as system logging, event handling, and health monitoring.
- Manage configuration and system state persistence.
- Implement access control, authentication, and software/service lifecycle mechanisms.
- Work with system-level fault detection and recovery.
- OAM (Operations, Administration, and Maintenance):
- Be familiar with and have experience in developing and integrating management interfaces (CLI, Netconf/YANG, SNMP).
- Support observability, diagnostics, and performance monitoring features.
- Enable external integration with network or element management systems.
- Contribute to fault, configuration, accounting, performance, and security (FCAPS) functions.
What You Will Bring: Required Qualifications
- Education: Master's / Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (CS), Electrical Engineering (EE), Telecommunications, or equivalent.
- Programming: Strong C/C++ programming skills are mandatory.
- Software Development: Proven experience in the software development of L2/L3 Ethernet switches or routers.
- Networking Knowledge: Excellent understanding of networking technologies and related protocols.
- Data Communication: Extensive knowledge in data communication or telecommunications.
- Teamwork & Attitude: Possess independent thinking skills and a quick learning ability. Demonstrate good teamwork and cooperation spirit, professional and personal integrity, proactive, and a positive learning attitude.
- Language: Fluent in English speaking and writing.
Preferred Qualifications (Big Plus)
- Experience with automation testing (with Perl or Java).
- Understanding of agile and scrum methodologies.
