Your Role And Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated Processor Simulation Engineer to join our processor architecture and modeling team. In this role, you will help develop, run, validate, and analyze processor simulation models that support architectural exploration, performance evaluation, and product development.

You will work closely with architects, performance engineers, design teams, and infrastructure teams to create and maintain simulation environments, automate regression execution, analyze simulation outcomes, and enhance modeling accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and maintain processor simulation and modeling environments.
• Run simulation workloads and regression suites to verify architectural and functional behavior.
• Review simulation results and pinpoint performance bottlenecks, functional defects, and modeling inaccuracies.
• Investigate and resolve simulation failures by collaborating with architecture, firmware, and hardware teams.
• Create and maintain automation scripts for simulation execution, monitoring, and reporting.
• Assist with simulator version upgrades, model revisions, and release validation.
• Develop tools and workflows to enhance simulation efficiency, scalability, and usability.
• Participate in model correlation, benchmarking, and performance characterization efforts.
• Document simulation methods, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.
• Work with global development teams to plan and execute simulation milestone deliverables.
  
  

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Strong programming experience in:
• C/C++
• Python
• Shell scripting (Bash/Ksh)
• Solid understanding of:
• Computer Architecture
• Operating Systems
• Experience with Linux/Unix environments.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of version-control systems such as Git.
• Expertise in automation language, tool and scripts – Python/Perl
• Experience in test automation.
• Analytical skills, decision making ability and attention to details .
• Ability to work in a team, under schedule pressure and maintain deadlines
• Development experience with Linux / Unix
• Experience in Test Plan creation and develop test cases from the requirements & Design Documents, reviews, reports creation.
• Strong communication skills and passionate to work well as part of a team.

• Processor or system-level simulation experience.
• Understanding of:
• CPU pipelines
• Memory hierarchy and translation
• Cache subsystems
• NUMA architectures
• Performance analysis methodologies
• Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
• Experience with automation frameworks and regression infrastructure.
• Exposure to performance benchmarking and workload characterization.
• Knowledge of PCIe, storage, or networking technologies is an advantage.
