About you

Experience In The Design Of

• Lead and direct teams carrying out technical design work in line with relevant design standards and codes, delivering work to high-quality levels.
• Define project briefs, scopes of work, and lead bid proposals.
• Manage time and budgets effectively to achieve key project milestones and programmes.
• Collaborate with teams in the UK and overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Establish design quality assurance standards.
• Build, develop and manage electrical engineering capability within the practice.
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of mechanical equipment, including pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant, alongside a deep understanding of current UK design standards and working practices.
• Proven track record as a strong technical leader in multidisciplinary delivery.
• Maintain a winning work mentality that drives growth and expands AtkinsRéalis' client portfolio.
• Work with and develop digital design tools, including unit process sizing and other automated design tools.
• Produce technical reports at all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Communicate with clients across the UK, Middle East, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, etc.
• Understand HAZOP, DSEAR, CDM, WIMES, British and European Standards, and other statutory, regulatory and non-regulatory provisions and guidance.
• Meet and exceed project quality, programme, budgetary and H&S requirements.
• Contribute to new innovative ideas and make suggestions for innovation.
• Opportunity to present your project work at company meetings or at conferences.
• Ability to coordinate with wider teams in multidisciplinary projects.
  
  

Essential Qualifications

• Chartered or Fellow Mechanical Engineer.
• Experience owning design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
• Extensive UK water industry experience.
