Senior Machinery Expert

The Senior Machinery Expert is a specialist/subject matter expert responsible for technical leadership in rotating machinery, packaged units, material handling, and solids processing systems. The role ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards, provides technical guidance to designers and junior engineers, and represents the company in technical discussions with clients and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop technical requirements, specifications, and selection criteria for rotating machinery and packaged equipment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to designers and less experienced engineers.
• Prepare man-hour estimates for proposals and develop manpower planning (MPP).
• Track project progress, implement catch-up plans, and ensure timely delivery.
• Represent, advocate, and negotiate technical solutions with clients and contractors.
• Ensure equipment design and selection comply with international standards and project requirements.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to integrate machinery systems into overall project design.

Minimum Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12–16 years of progressive experience in machinery and packaged equipment for medium to large projects.
• Specialist experience in Offshore, Onshore Petrochemical, and Refinery fields.
• Working knowledge of current API standards (API-610, API-616, API-617, API-618) for rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, reciprocating gas compressors, auxiliary systems, and steam/gas turbines.
• Basic understanding of PFDs and P&IDs.
• Experience in FPSO, offshore, and brownfield projects is required.
