Senior Full Stack Performance Analyst

Introduction

As a Senior Full Stack Performance Analyst, you will lead the charge in performance engineering across various layers of the Power System stack, which includes the Power Processor, Power Hypervisor, and Operating System (AIX & Linux). Your role will involve identifying performance bottlenecks and proposing design modifications, tunable options, and optimizations to enhance the performance and design of next-generation Power Processors and systems. Additionally, you will conduct performance analysis of Oracle Database and implement fine-tuning strategies. You will work collaboratively with teams across the stack, encompassing Chip design, Firmware, Hypervisor, and Operating System, to drive design tuning and optimization efforts aimed at performance improvement.

Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Senior Full Stack Performance Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:

• Conducting studies on workload characteristics for IBM Power and x86, and providing actionable recommendations.
• Executing and measuring the performance of various PowerVM (Hypervisor) functions and features.
• Utilizing a range of performance tools to analyze performance metrics and identify bottlenecks or opportunities for enhancing the PowerVM (Hypervisor) stack/function performance.
• Offering tuning and performance optimization recommendations to drive improvements.
• Addressing client performance-related issues.
  
  

Preferred Education

Master's Degree

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• A minimum of 13-18 years of overall IT experience.
• At least 6 years of experience as a System Performance Analyst.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in Oracle database performance analysis and tuning.
• A strong understanding of Operating System concepts.
• Proven experience in Performance Analysis, Performance Tuning, and Performance Optimization.
• Familiarity with Performance Monitoring Tools such as vmstat, netstat, iostat, nmon, topas, top, etc.
• Proficiency in C/C++ programming.
• A solid understanding of Hypervisor and Virtualization concepts.
• A good grasp of Virtual I/O concepts.
• A comprehensive understanding of System Architecture.
• Knowledge of Compilers.
• Experience with Assembly Programming.
