Senior Data Scientist

Job Overview:

• This position is centered on the creation and implementation of innovative machine learning and AI solutions aimed at enhancing business outcomes within Research Innovation Quality Food Safety and Sales.
• You will engage in high-stakes projects involving predictive modeling, causal inference, optimization, and generative AI applications to derive insights and expedite decision-making processes.
• This role is based in Barcelona.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Partner with business leaders to identify organizational needs and convert them into effective AI solutions.
• Utilize cutting-edge algorithms and predictive modeling techniques, including Machine Learning and Deep Learning, to tackle business challenges.
• Model Development: Construct, validate, and implement advanced machine learning models, such as e

• CatBoost, XGBoost, and deep learning methods for forecasting, optimization, and recommendation systems.
• Causal Inference Experimentation: Employ causal inference methodologies and design experiments to evaluate the effects of interventions.
• Data Strategy: Collaborate with data engineers to create reliable data pipelines and scalable architectures.
• Business Impact: Convert intricate analytics into practical insights for stakeholders in areas like QFS, R I, Operations, Sales, and Marketing.

• generative AI and reinforcement learning, to address business challenges.
• Mentorship: Support junior data scientists by promoting best practices in coding, model governance, and documentation.
• Design GenAI Evaluation Frameworks: Develop frameworks for evaluating GenAI Agentic and traditional ML approaches.
• Establish comprehensive evaluation frameworks with key AI providers, including offline metrics, error analysis, and bias detection.

Technical Qualifications:

• We seek candidates with the following technical expertise:
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, along with libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Spark, and version control tools like Git.
• Experience in modeling techniques, including supervised and unsupervised learning.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure.
• Knowledge of data science tools and platforms, including Databricks, MLFlow, Mosaic, and Microsoft Foundry.
• A strong grasp of statistics, causal inference, and optimization methods.

Additional Qualifications:

• We are looking for individuals with:
• Over 7 years of experience in Data Science within a dynamic and complex business environment, ideally in a Data Scientist role.
• A Master's, PhD, or other advanced degree in a field related to computer science, applied mathematics, statistics, machine learning, or closely associated disciplines.
• Experience in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector is advantageous.
