Job Description:

• We are seeking a candidate with a robust background in utilities and GIS, who can assume a techno-functional lead position in implementing GIS solutions tailored for Electric and Gas Utilities, specifically utilizing ESRI platforms.
• The ideal applicant will possess experience in deploying GIS solutions within the North American Utilities sector.
• Familiarity with other GIS systems will be considered an additional asset.
• Candidates with a solid development background in the Esri suite of applications will be favored for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of solutions using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, JavaScript API, HTML5, TypeScript, React JS, ArcGIS Online Web App Builder, and ArcGIS Mobile.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technological advancements in the GIS industry and understand the roadmap of Esri solutions.
• Contribute to functional workshops with business stakeholders to gather GIS requirements.
• Conduct demonstrations during functional workshops utilizing GIS products.
• Engage in requirement discussions with clients regarding the GIS program.
• Translate customer requirements into product specifications and propose workaround solutions as needed.
• Provide guidance to developers in resolving development-related issues.
• Focus areas will include JavaScript API, HTML5, TypeScript, Silverlight API, and the ArcGIS Runtime development platform, such as Xamarin and Java.
• Assist in the architecture and design of the comprehensive GIS solution and its key interfaces, ensuring adherence to industry best practices.
• Develop GIS-based proofs of concept (POCs) to illustrate ideas and present demonstrations to business users.
• Design forms, workflows, portlets, and integrations with necessary systems.
• Exhibit expertise in developing solutions for mobile platforms.
• Address issues during the support phase post-Go Live.
• Support the Testing team by identifying functional areas that require testing.
• The candidate must be a collaborative team player, ready to assist the project team with any functional or technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in project review meetings, both internally and with clients.
• Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies in the GIS domain as necessary.

Technical Requirements:

• 5 to 13 years of overall IT industry experience, with a minimum of 5 years focused on implementing ESRI-based GIS solutions.
• Proficient programming experience in JavaScript and TypeScript is essential.
• Solid understanding of the Electric and Gas Transmission and Distribution sectors.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and analytical skills are required.
• Strong soft skills are a must.
• Willingness to travel to client locations when necessary.
• Preferred qualifications include:
• Proficiency in writing Stored Procedures and Functions in PL/SQL for Oracle.
• Experience with Oracle Spatial databases.
• Familiarity with ETL tools like FME.
