Senior Business Analyst - Pune

Primary Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering and Analysis

• Gather, scrutinize, and document business requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and comprehensive domain research.
• Convert business needs into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Develop and update Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) that clearly define scope, assumptions, and dependencies.
• Specify non-functional requirements including performance, security, compliance, scalability, and usability standards.
• Maintain requirements traceability from initial business needs through implementation and testing phases.
• Facilitate the prioritization of requirements using frameworks such as MoSCoW, RICE, or similar methodologies.

Process & Workflow Optimization

• Map intricate, multi-step business processes and user journeys across various personas.
• Design process flows, swimlane diagrams, and state transition diagrams utilizing standard notations such as BPMN and UML.
• Identify opportunities for automation and pinpoint human touchpoints within workflows.
• Assess current-state processes and craft future-state enhancements to improve efficiency.
• Document decision rules, business logic, and scenarios for exception handling.
• Define workflow states, transitions, triggers, and approval hierarchies to streamline operations.

Stakeholder Engagement & Communication

• Act as the main liaison between business stakeholders, product teams, and engineering units.
• Lead workshops, sprint planning sessions, and backlog refinement meetings.
• Manage stakeholder expectations by communicating trade-offs related to scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Present requirements, design concepts, and analysis results to leadership and cross-disciplinary teams.
• Coordinate with compliance and legal departments to address regulatory constraints.
• Foster relationships with external partners and vendors to facilitate integration requirements.

Product Documentation & Specification Development

• Draft clear, detailed user stories with acceptance criteria aligned with INVEST principles.
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes collaboratively with UX/UI designers.
• Document API specifications, data models, and integration requirements for engineering teams.
• Maintain a comprehensive product knowledge base, including feature documentation, FAQs, and user guides.
• Develop data dictionaries, glossaries, and taxonomy definitions to standardize domain terminology.
• Design test scenarios and assist QA teams by providing business context and identifying edge cases.

UAT Planning & Launch Support

• Coordinate and plan User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business stakeholders.
• Define UAT test cases, scenarios, and success criteria aligned with business goals.
• Manage defect triage and change requests, differentiating between bugs and enhancement requests.
• Support product releases by preparing training materials, release notes, and stakeholder communications.
• Collect and analyze post-launch feedback to recommend product improvements.
• Monitor feature adoption and evaluate success metrics against business objectives.

Industry Expertise & Continuous Enhancement

• Develop an in-depth understanding of the fintech landscape, including KYC/AML, payments, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
• Stay informed on industry trends, competitor solutions, and regulatory updates.
• Identify inefficiencies within processes and recommend optimization strategies.
• Contribute insights to product roadmap discussions through data-driven analysis.
• Mentor junior analysts, sharing best practices and establishing standardized BA templates.
• Maintain awareness of emerging technologies and explore their potential applications within the business domain.
