Scala Developer

Job Summary:

• We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Scala Developer to architect, create, and enhance large-scale data processing systems.
• The perfect candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of Scala programming, distributed data processing frameworks, and contemporary data engineering methodologies.
• You will collaborate closely with data engineers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to develop scalable data pipelines and analytical solutions that support data-driven decision-making across organizations.
• This position provides the chance to engage with cloud-native data platforms, big data technologies, and advanced analytics ecosystems.

Primary Duties:

• Design, develop, test, and launch scalable applications utilizing Scala.
• Construct and enhance data processing pipelines leveraging Apache Spark and Scala.
• Create ETL and ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and process extensive volumes of both structured and unstructured data.
• Work in conjunction with business analytics and engineering teams to comprehend requirements and convert them into technical implementations.
• Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable code in alignment with software engineering best practices.
• Enhance application and data pipeline performance through tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting efforts.
• Integrate solutions with databases, data lakes, and cloud platforms.
• Maintain data quality, reliability, scalability, and security across all data solutions.
• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing sessions.
• Assist with production deployments and swiftly resolve technical challenges.

Technical Qualifications:

• 3 to 5 years of practical experience in Scala development.
• Strong command of Scala programming concepts, including functional programming, collections, concurrency, and object-oriented design.
• Proficient in Apache Spark, Spark SQL, DataFrames, and Dataset APIs.
• Robust SQL skills with experience in relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience in developing and maintaining ETL data processing applications.
• Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Knowledge of distributed computing and big data concepts.
