Scala Developer

Job Overview:

• We are in search of a dedicated and proficient Scala Developer to architect, develop, and enhance large-scale data processing systems.
• The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in Scala programming, distributed data processing frameworks, and contemporary data engineering methodologies.

Main Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications utilizing Scala.
• Construct and refine data processing pipelines using Apache Spark and Scala.
• Create ETL and ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and process substantial volumes of both structured and unstructured data.
• Work together with business analytics and engineering teams to comprehend requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Produce efficient, maintainable, and reusable code adhering to software engineering best practices.
• Enhance application and data pipeline performance through tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Integrate solutions with databases, data lakes, and cloud platforms.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, scalability, and security across data solutions.
• Engage in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Assist with production deployments and promptly resolve technical issues.

Technical Qualifications:

• Core competencies include Technology Functional Programming and Scala.
• 5 to 7 years of practical experience in Scala development.
• Strong understanding of Scala programming concepts, functional programming, collections, concurrency, and object-oriented design.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Spark SQL, DataFrames, and Dataset APIs.
• Robust SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience in developing and maintaining ETL data processing applications.
• Basic understanding of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with version control systems like Git.
• Comprehension of distributed computing and big data concepts.
