Scala Developer

Job Overview:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable applications using Scala.
• Create and enhance data processing pipelines utilizing Apache Spark and Scala.
• Develop ETL and ELT workflows to ingest, transform, and process substantial volumes of structured and unstructured data.
• Collaborate with business analytics and engineering teams to comprehend requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Write efficient, maintainable, and reusable code adhering to software engineering best practices.
• Optimize application and data pipeline performance through tuning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Integrate solutions with databases, data lakes, and cloud environments.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, scalability, and security across data solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Support production deployments and promptly resolve technical issues.

Technical Qualifications:

• 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in Scala development.
• Strong command of Scala programming concepts, functional programming, collections, concurrency, and object-oriented design.
• Experience with Apache Spark, Spark SQL, DataFrames, and Dataset APIs.
• Solid SQL skills and familiarity with relational databases like Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, or MySQL.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Experience in developing and maintaining ETL data processing applications.
• Competence in Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Experience with version control systems such as Git.
• Knowledge of distributed computing and big data concepts.
