Job Summary:
- The Data Archive Analyst is responsible for optimizing SAP system performance and ensuring compliance with data retention policies through SAP data archiving projects.
- Collaborates with business and global compliance teams to manage ECC data archiving, decommissioning, and destruction activities.
- Leverages expertise in SAP frameworks, ArchiveLink, SAP ILM, and OpenText document management to enhance archiving processes across SAP environments, including ECC and S/4HANA.
- Applies ABAP skills to develop and enhance archiving objects and create custom utilities.
- Analyzes database growth, plans archiving strategies, schedules archiving jobs, and supports auditing requirements.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with team members to execute SAP data archiving projects that improve system performance and ensure compliance with data retention policies.
- Hands-on work in ECC data archiving, decommissioning, and destruction in coordination with business and global compliance teams.
- Understand business processes to identify and map required archive objects.
- Conduct database growth analysis and develop archiving strategies, applying techno-functional expertise on data-dependent tables across SAP modules.
- Design, build, test, and implement archiving objects within SAP environments (ECC and S/4HANA), adhering to RIM policies.
- Create and test custom archiving objects, supporting auditing needs through various data retrieval methods from archives.
- Schedule and monitor archiving jobs, maintain job logs, and prepare archiving statistics.
- Configure retention and audit policies in compliance with legal requirements across countries using SAP ILM.
- Implement OpenText document management activities related to data archiving.
- Participate in at least two complete end-to-end SAP archival implementations.
Experience & Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5+ years of SAP experience with at least 2 years of ABAP development.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on SAP data archiving implementation experience.
- Practical expertise in SAP Data Archiving framework, ArchiveLink, SAP ILM, and management of archived data across SAP modules.
- Experience in configuring retention and audit policies.
- Participation in multiple end-to-end SAP archival projects.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Knowledge of ABAP development for developing and enhancing archiving objects and utilities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Solid understanding of business requirements and ability to prepare architectural specifications.
- Ability to assign and monitor application design to ensure compliance with architectural standards.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in teams.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
