Sap Abap Consultant

Responsibilities:

• Development & Customization:
• Design, develop, and implement custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (RICEFW objects).
• Develop and modify ABAP programs using modern ABAP constructs (e.g., ABAP Objects, ABAP for HANA, CDS Views, AMDP) for optimal performance on HANA databases.
• Work on SAP Fiori/UI5 development and extensions, including OData service creation and consumption.
• Implement user exits, BAdIs, enhancement spots, and other enhancement techniques to extend standard SAP functionality.
• Develop and maintain interfaces using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, and other integration technologies (e.g., Proxy, Web Services).
• Create and maintain forms using Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, and SAPScript.
• Analysis & Design:
• Collaborate with functional consultants and business users to understand detailed business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Perform technical analysis, effort estimation, and provide innovative solutions to complex business problems.
• Design robust and scalable technical solutions that adhere to SAP best practices and coding standards.
• Testing & Quality Assurance:
• Perform comprehensive unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality, performance, and adherence to development guidelines.
• Utilize debugging tools and techniques to identify and resolve complex ABAP program issues.
• Support & Maintenance:
• Provide ongoing technical support for existing SAP ABAP applications, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, and performance optimization.
• Manage change requests, perform impact analysis, and ensure timely resolution of production incidents.
• Support system upgrades, migrations, and landscape transformations with custom code adjustments.
• Documentation & Knowledge Sharing:
• Prepare and maintain detailed technical specifications, design documents, test plans, and deployment documentation.
• Contribute to the knowledge base, sharing technical expertise and best practices with team members.
• Mentor junior ABAP developers, providing guidance and support.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Work closely with functional teams (e.g., FI, CO, SD, MM, PP, QM) to understand module-specific requirements and ensure seamless integration.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
