Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning and Execution:
- Lead and manage the planning, execution, and closing of projects.
- Develop detailed project execution plans that include scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
- Coordinate with internal resources and third-party vendors to ensure flawless project execution.
2. Customer Management:
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring project deliverables meet or exceed client expectations.
- Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and explore alternative business solutions.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns raised by clients in a timely and professional manner.
3. Subcontract/Vendor Management:
- Manage relationships with subcontractors, ensuring they meet project requirements and standards.
- Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure compliance with contractual terms.
4. Change Control Management:
- Manage changes to the project scope, schedule, and costs using verification techniques.
- Ensure all changes are documented, reviewed, and approved by relevant stakeholders before implementation.
- Maintain a change log to track all requested, approved, and implemented changes.
5. Risk and Quality Management:
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks and ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
6. Cost Control:
- Implement cost control measures to manage project expenditures.
- Track and report on project costs, ensuring adherence to budgets, and take corrective actions as needed to meet financial targets.
7. Financial Control:
- Monitor and control project costs to ensure financial targets are met.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
8. Contract Management:
- Oversee the preparation and management of project contracts.
- Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations and manage any changes or amendments, in collaboration with legal and procurement teams.
9. Team Management:
- Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Assign responsibilities, and ensure team members have the resources and support they need to succeed.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and development opportunities.
10. Effective Communication:
- Ensure periodic communication with internal and external stakeholders regarding project status, risks, actions, and escalations to ensure successful execution.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred disciplines: Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.)
- Project Management Institute Certified Professional (preferred)
Experience:
- 3 - 5 years of project management experience, specifically in managing projects of varying complexity and scale.
- Preferred domains: TAS, Skids & Terminal Automation, Telecommunication & Security Integration (TSI).
Skills / Knowledge:
- Client-facing communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and internal teams.
- Project Management Software: Proficient in tools like MS Project, Primavera, etc.
- ERP Systems: Hands-on experience with SAP is preferred.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Risk & Change Management: Experience in risk management, change control, and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Financial Control: Strong understanding of cost control, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Personal Traits:
- Ability to multi-task and manage complex issues under pressure.
- Informed decision-making ability on complex issues.
- Team player with strong collaboration skills.
- Willingness to work in different time zones, especially for managing overseas projects.
