Principal DevOps Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the cloud infrastructure and resources with attention to cost and resilience
• Lead initiatives to improve the monitoring and observability of platform, products, and cost.
• On-call support for incident management and disaster recovery.
• Lead the implementation and adoption of automation solutions for build, test, and deployment.
• Partner with the Engineering teams to improve our continuous integration and testing system.
• Lead initiatives and improvements to the tools and in-house frameworks.

Experience and Competencies

• The following experience is expected to be successful in this role.

Required

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps roles
• Proficient in managing infrastructure with cloud providers, preferably AWS.
• Proficient with declarative infrastructure and continuous delivery as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Argos CD, Github Actions).
• Proficient in Linux administration and networking.
• Proficient evangelizing DevOps best practices to Engineering teams.
• Proficient in designing systems for High Availability, Disaster Recovery, Performance, Efficiency, and Security.
• Proficient programming in Python or shell.
• Proficient in at least one monitoring platform (DataDog desirable)
• Desirable
• AWS Certified SysOps Administrator and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer
• CKA, CKAD and CKS certification is a good to have
• Bachelors degree in Computer science or similar fields.
