Principal Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities

Customer Engagement & Technical Leadership

• Lead technical evaluations, proofs of concept, and competitive benchmarking for Liberate Characterization Suite
• Act as a trusted technical advisor for customers on library characterization and modeling flows
• Deliver customer trainings, workshops, and technical presentations
• Support strategic customer engagements and drive adoption of Cadence solutions

Product & R&D Collaboration

• Work closely with R&D and product teams to provide feedback from real-world usage
• Translate customer requirements into product improvements and feature enhancements
• Influence product strategy through technical insights and field experience

Problem Solving & Debugging

• Debug complex characterization and modeling issues reported by customers
• Provide actionable technical solutions for advanced semiconductor flows
• Support variation-aware modeling and statistical characterization challenges

Mentorship & Leadership

• Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical problem-solving and best practices
• Build internal technical expertise and strengthen team capabilities
• Promote knowledge sharing within the organization

Technical Execution

• Perform and support library characterization using industry-standard tools
• Work with circuit simulators such as Spectre and HSPICE
• Support advanced modeling formats such as NLDM, CCS, ECSM, LVF, EM, and aging models
• Work on advanced semiconductor nodes (5nm, 3nm) and understand process variation impacts
