Power BI Developer

Role Expectations

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI
• Create and optimize data models, including star and snowflake schemas
• Develop complex DAX calculations and KPIs to extract actionable business insights
• Integrate data from multiple sources such as SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, and APIs
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Perform data validation and resolve issues to ensure accuracy and performance
• Implement row-level security and user-specific data access policies
• Advise on Power BI governance, best practices, and self-service analytics strategies
• Manage data refresh schedules and monitor report performance
• Coordinate with data engineers, analysts, and business teams to ensure seamless delivery

Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Power BI development
• Expertise in advanced DAX and data modeling
• Strong proficiency with Power Query/M language
• Skilled in dashboard and report design with focus on user experience
• Experience with Power BI Service and Power BI Report Server
• Knowledge of row-level security, gateway setup, and deployment processes
• Familiarity with Power BI REST API and embedding techniques
• Proficient in writing T-SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and functions
• Experienced in data extraction, transformation, and integration using SQL
• Comfortable working with large datasets and tuning for performance
