Power BI Admin

Job Overview:

• We are in search of a proficient Power BI Administrator to oversee, maintain, and enhance the security of the Power BI environment throughout our organization.
• The ideal candidate will possess practical experience in Power BI Service administration, gateway management, workspace governance, security implementation, capacity monitoring, and user support.

Primary Duties:

• Oversee and manage the Power BI Service environment effectively.
• Set up and maintain On-Premises Data Gateways.
• Administer Power BI workspaces, datasets, reports, dashboards, and dataflows.
• Enforce governance, security, and compliance policies.
• Configure and manage Row Level Security (RLS).
• Monitor the performance of Power BI Premium capacities and optimize their efficiency.
• Manage user access, licensing, and permission settings.
• Diagnose and resolve report refresh failures, gateway issues, and connectivity challenges.
• Track system health and usage statistics through the Power BI Admin Portal.
• Collaborate with BI developers, data engineers, and business stakeholders.
• Maintain deployment pipelines and assist with release management tasks.
• Develop operational documentation, administration guides, and best practices.

Technical Qualifications:

• Extensive experience in Power BI Administration.
• Hands-on expertise with Power BI Service and Power BI Premium Capacity.
• Proficiency in Power BI Gateway installation and management.
• Understanding of Workspace Administration and Governance.
• Experience with Azure Active Directory (AAD) and security protocols.
• Familiarity with DAX, Data Modeling, and Power Query.
• Experience managing Row Level Security (RLS).
• Knowledge of Power BI REST APIs and automation techniques.
• Proficient in monitoring, auditing, and performance tuning.
• Acquainted with SQL Server and relational database management.
