Job Description

General Summary:

As part of Qualcomm's Automotive System Performance team, you will be responsible for analyzing, validating, and optimizing power and thermal characteristics of Snapdragon automotive chipsets. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring best-in-class power efficiency and thermal reliability across key SoC components such as CPU, GPU, NSP, multimedia, and memory subsystems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Validate and optimize operating voltages for SoC rails across automotive temperature ranges and silicon splits.
  • Analyze current, voltage, and power metrics for individual IP cores using hardware power measurement tools and real-world workloads.
  • Perform platform-level thermal analysis using on-die and on-board thermal sensors; correlate with design estimates to identify gaps and optimize performance.
  • Use software knobs and hardware thermal solutions to fine-tune thermal mitigation strategies.
  • Debug and resolve system-level power and thermal issues, leveraging deep knowledge of SoC architecture and power/thermal management.
  • Automate voltage and thermal characterization workflows using Python-based test frameworks.
  • Generate clear and professional reports for internal stakeholders using MS Office or visualization tools.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Computer, Electrical, or related field) and 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and SoC IPs (CPU, GPU, NSP, Memory, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with ARM/x86-based platforms and automotive or mobile OS environments.
  • Experience with power/thermal measurement tools and characterization techniques.
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation and data analysis.
  • Fast learner with the ability to adapt to new tools and technologies quickly.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience in power and performance optimization, competitive benchmarking, or proof-of-concept development.
  • Familiarity with voltage scaling techniques and thermal mitigation strategies.
  • Ability to present complex technical findings through polished reports, presentations, and dashboards.
