Platform Engineer

• Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates and Terraform.
• Architect and manage distributed applications using Azure services like Event Hub, Data Factory, ADLS Gen2, Cosmos DB, Synapse, Databricks, APIM, Function App, Logic App, and App Services.
• Build and manage containerized workloads with Docker and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize systems using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
• Define and implement disaster recovery, backup strategies, and failover mechanisms for mission-critical systems.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and scaling for high availability and operational efficiency.
• Manage Dev/Test/Pre-prod/Production environments and ensure smooth deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps and Jenkins.
• Design and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines for application deployment and integration.
• Troubleshoot and analyze failed jobs in Azure Data Factory and Databricks, providing root cause analysis and applying effective resolutions.
• Develop and maintain monitoring systems for job flows, applications, and infrastructure, including proactive alerting mechanisms.
• Collaborate with development teams to enhance application and workflow performance based on monitoring insights.
• Write scripts in Python and Shell for automation and process optimization.
• Maintain and monitor Azure VMs, focusing on performance metrics like memory, CPU, disk, and networking.
• Stay current with evolving technologies and apply agile methodologies to project delivery.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 36 years of hands-on experience working with Azure and cloud-native technologies.
• Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and ARM templates.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Data Engineering services and distributed data pipelines.
• Experience in container orchestration with AKS.
• Expertise in CI/CD pipeline creation, deployment automation, and application lifecycle management.
• Advanced troubleshooting and performance tuning capabilities.
• Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Understanding of agile principles and collaborative team environments.
