Job Description

  • Assist the Executive Chef in managing daily bakery operations and staff supervision
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu items, focusing on both traditional and innovative baked goods
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of all bakery products
  • Train and mentor junior bakers and pastry chefs
  • Maintain inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Uphold strict food safety and sanitation standards
  • Collaborate with other kitchen departments to create cohesive menu offerings
  • Participate in menu planning, cost control, and budgeting for the bakery department
  • Stay current with industry trends and incorporate new techniques and flavors into the menu
  • Culinary degree or diploma with a focus on baking and pastry arts
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a professional bakery or pastry kitchen
  • Previous experience in a leadership role (e. g. , Head Baker, Pastry Chef)
  • Advanced knowledge of baking and pastry techniques, including bread making, cake decorating, and confectionery
  • Proficiency in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices, with current Food Safety Certification
  • Excellent knowledge of dietary restrictions and allergen management
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining various kitchen and bakery equipment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creativity and passion for creating innovative baked goods and pastries
  • Flexibility to work early morning shifts, weekends, and holidays as required
