• Design, develop, and maintain Ruby and Rails-based applications and APIs with clean, scalable, and maintainable architecture
• Work proficiently with ActiveRecord and relational databases, optimizing queries, creating indexes, managing transactions, and designing data models
• Identify and troubleshoot performance issues across application, database, and API layers
• Investigate and resolve production incidents through logs, monitoring tools, stack traces, and root cause analysis
• Design and manage background processing workflows utilizing systems like Sidekiq, ensuring proper handling of retries, failures, concurrency, and idempotency
• Implement efficient data structures and algorithms to address engineering challenges effectively
• Conduct thorough code reviews, emphasizing correctness, maintainability, scalability, and minimizing production risks

**Required Qualifications**

• Extensive hands-on experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails frameworks
• Strong understanding of performance, reliability, and scalability considerations
• Ability to independently own problems from initial investigation through to production deployment and resolution
• Excellent engineering judgment with a keen focus on code quality
• Practical knowledge of the areas listed above; deep theoretical expertise is not mandatory

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience
