Job Description
Position Overview:
- We are on the lookout for a Senior Network Architect with extensive practical knowledge in comprehensive network solutions across the contemporary enterprise framework, including Software Defined LAN, SD WAN, SASE, application delivery, load balancing, DDI, and Software Defined Data Center LAN.
- This position is responsible for the technical design and architecture of intricate multi-vendor network solutions, guiding projects from initial concept to detailed design and final handover. The architect will translate business and security requirements into robust, scalable, and automatable architectures.
- This role serves as a senior individual contributor and technical authority, combining solution design, pre-sales support, standards establishment, and mentoring.
- You will act as the primary expert for network design choices, reference architectures, and technology selection, collaborating closely with delivery teams, security, cloud stakeholders, customers, and OEM partners.
- The position also increasingly necessitates proficiency in AI, particularly in applying AI and AIOps for network operations and optimization, as well as designing networks that accommodate AI and ML workloads.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the complete architecture and solution design for enterprise network initiatives that encompass campus LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and security edge SASE domains.
- Generate High-Level Designs (HLD), Low-Level Designs (LLD), reference architectures, and design standards, which include topology diagrams, IP routing schemes, migration plans, and bills of materials.
- Oversee technology assessments, Proofs of Concept (PoCs), and OEM vendor selection while evaluating solutions against functional, commercial, operational, and security benchmarks.
- Assist in pre-sales and solutioning efforts, addressing RFPs and RFIs, sizing and costing solutions, presenting designs to clients and executives, and justifying design choices during technical reviews.
- Formulate transformation and migration strategies for transitioning from legacy systems to software-defined frameworks, for instance, traditional WAN to SD WAN, SASE, and classic data center spine-leaf fabric to campus SD Access fabric.
- Incorporate security by design principles, including micro-segmentation, Zero Trust, secure edge, and integration with the broader security framework.
- Advance network automation and Infrastructure as Code practices throughout designs, including templating, Zero Touch Provisioning (ZTP), and Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) for network configurations.
- Establish design governance through architecture review boards, design patterns, guardrails, and documentation standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to network engineers and junior architects, serving as a design escalation point during project delivery.
- Collaborate with cloud, security, applications, and infrastructure teams to ensure that network architecture is aligned with the overall enterprise architecture and strategic roadmaps.
