Network Security Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage secure network architectures, including firewalls, VPNs, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and other network security solutions.
• Conduct regular network security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify, analyze, and remediate security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Monitor and respond to security incidents and alerts, taking appropriate action to protect the network and prevent unauthorized access.
• Collaborate with IT and other departments to establish and enforce network security policies, standards, and best practices.
• Ensure network security controls comply with industry standards, regulations, and organizational policies.
• Maintain and update network security documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
• Stay informed about the latest network security threats, trends, and technologies to ensure the organization's defenses are current and effective.
• Provide guidance and training to other team members on network security best practices and procedures.
• Qualifications:
• 2-5 years of network security experience, focusing on designing, implementing, and managing secure network architectures.
• Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall management, VPN technologies, IDS/IPS systems, and network access control.
• Familiarity with network security assessment tools such as Wireshark, Nmap, Nessus, or similar.
• Experience with network security incident response and troubleshooting.
• Prior experience with scripting or programming (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) is an added advantage.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain network security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Relevant certifications (such as CCNA Security, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or CISSP) are optional but not required.
