Network Security Engineer

About the Role:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Network Security Engineer (L1) with 6 months to 3 years of hands-on experience in managing and supporting network security infrastructure, particularly firewalls. The ideal candidate should have working knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls , with added advantage for experience in FortiGate and Cisco firewalls .

Key Roles Responsibilities:

• Monitor, manage, and support firewall security infrastructure (primarily Palo Alto, FortiGate, and Cisco firewalls).
• Respond to network security alerts and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
• Perform routine firewall rule changes, configuration updates, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and internal teams to ensure the security posture of the organization is maintained.
• Assist in maintaining security documentation, including change records and network diagrams.
• Work with ticketing systems to resolve issues and complete tasks as per defined SLAs.
• Participate in scheduled on-call support and shift rotations, if applicable.

Basic Qualifications:

• B.E / B. Tech degree in computer science, information technology, or master s degree preferred.
• 6 months to 3 years of experience in network security or related roles.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Practical knowledge and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls .
• Good to have knowledge of FortiGate and Cisco firewalls .
• Basic understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching.
• Familiarity with security incident response and troubleshooting techniques.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Palo Alto Networks Certified Cybersecurity Entry-level Technician (PCCET) or PCNSA
• Fortinet NSE 1/2/3 or above
• Cisco Certified CyberOps Associate or CCNA Security
