NETWORK ENGINEER

ROLE PURPOSE:

Ensure a resilient, secure, and thoroughly documented network infrastructure that enables continued operation of critical sites.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN, WAN, wireless, and network connectivity in line with approved architecture and change procedures.

• Implement and troubleshoot routing, switching, VLANs, redundancy, and network services; investigate performance and availability issues.

• Monitor network health, capacity, and alerts; resolve incidents and escalate complex issues to vendors or the appropriate teams.

• Configure and support network security devices and policies in coordination with the network security engineer.

• Plan upgrades, patches, backups, and configuration changes; confirm changes and maintain rollback plans.

• Maintain network diagrams, device inventories, configurations, IP addressing records, and operational procedures.

• Coordinate with service providers, vendors, and site teams to support implementation, maintenance, and fault resolution.

• Contribute to incident response, root cause analysis, and service improvement initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:

Demonstrated expertise in enterprise routing and switching, high availability, network monitoring, and troubleshooting; familiarity with firewalls and load balancing. Proven ability to document changes and perform effectively in operationally driven environments under pressure.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:

Maintain service availability and achieve timely incident resolution; ensure high-quality deliverables and documentation; follow approved change, security, and safety procedures.
