Job Description
We are looking for an accomplished Senior Developer with deep expertise in designing and delivering enterprise-grade APIs, building event-driven solutions with Apache Kafka, and creating search and data solutions using Elasticsearch.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer who can own solution design from conception through implementation, build highly scalable and resilient services, and collaborate effectively within modern distributed and cloud-based architectures.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Lead API design activities, including API contracts, versioning, authentication/authorization, error handling, observability, and performance.
- Create event-driven and asynchronous solutions with Apache Kafka, covering producers, consumers, topics, partitions, consumer groups, and event-processing patterns.
- Design and develop solutions using Elasticsearch for high-volume indexing, querying, search, and data retrieval.
- Integrate APIs and services with Kafka, Elasticsearch, databases, and other enterprise platforms.
- Architect solutions that deliver high availability, scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Troubleshoot challenging production problems across APIs, distributed services, Kafka messaging, and Elasticsearch.
- Build automated unit, integration, and API tests while supporting strong engineering and CI/CD practices.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews and propose improvements to existing applications and integrations.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to other developers.
- Work closely with architects, product teams, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Strong professional experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (10 years +) building enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems.
- Expert-level experience designing and developing REST APIs and microservices.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including:
- Producers and consumers
- Topics and partitions
- Consumer groups
- Event-driven architecture
- Message serialization and schemas
- Error handling, retries, and dead-letter/error-processing patterns
- Monitoring and troubleshooting
- Strong hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, including:
- Index design and mappings
- Query development
- Data ingestion and indexing
- Search optimization
- Performance tuning and troubleshooting
- Strong development experience with Java/Spring Boot or a comparable enterprise development stack.
- Experience building high-volume, highly available distributed applications.
- Strong understanding of API security and authentication patterns, including OAuth 2.0/JWT.
- Experience with Git, automated testing, CI/CD, and modern DevOps practices.
- Experience working with containerized/cloud-native applications using technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong debugging, performance analysis, and production support skills.
- Experience with Kafka Streams, Kafka Connect, or Confluent Platform.
- Experience with the broader Elastic Stack, including Kibana and Logstash.
- Experience developing solutions on Azure, AWS, or another major cloud platform.
- Experience with API management/gateway technologies.
- Understanding of OpenAPI/Swagger specifications and API-first development.
- Experience with observability platforms and distributed application monitoring.
- Experience operating APIs, Kafka workloads, and Elasticsearch at significant enterprise
