Manager - SOC

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and cultivate the essential competencies and skills of training personnel, including SOC Analysts, Engineers, Operators, and Technicians.
• Oversee the 24x7 operations of the Security Operation Centre.
• Administer, refine, and own the SOC processes and procedures to ensure seamless operations.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and other delivery teams to address, follow up, and resolve security incidents as part of the escalation matrix and customer service delivery.
• Engage with various delivery teams to guarantee that the security tools necessary for detecting infrastructure security events are implemented across all required platforms.
• Design and outline a roadmap and strategic direction for technology assets within the SOC.
• Continuously assess existing strategies and methodologies, addressing any gaps in communication or processes.
• Supervise SOC operations and provide performance evaluations for the SOC team.
• Possess comprehensive knowledge of security principles, including cyber threats, attack techniques, threat vectors, risk management, and incident management.
• Analyze and proactively respond to security threats originating from Firewall (FW), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS), Antivirus (AV), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), and other security threat data sources.
• Design training programs for Security Analysts and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Exhibit efficient team incident response capabilities and demonstrate leadership.

Required Skills:

• A degree, postgraduate diploma, or MSc in computer science from a recognized institution.
• Proficiency in technical SOC skills such as incident response, log analysis, TCP/IP, network traffic analysis, anti-virus/malware, intrusion detection/prevention, packet analysis techniques, event correlation, and event triage.
• A background in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology.
• At least 8 years of experience in an IT setting with a concentration on Information Security.
• A minimum of 3 years of relevant practical experience with a proven ability to fulfill the responsibilities of the role within a SOC environment.
• Extensive experience in addressing issues related to security policy, compliance, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
• Familiarity with Security Information Event Management (SIEM) solutions and related certifications.
• Additional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, GCIH, or CISSP will be considered advantageous.
