Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Automation Strategy & Implementation: Responsible for research, analysis, documentation, and presentation of effective methods for consolidating various jobs/workflows/started tasks and automating them to prevent manual intervention from Operations. Provide proactive automation solutions, including project leadership.
- Recovery Processes & High Availability: Design and implement recovery processes to support high availability initiatives.
- Impact Analysis: Evaluate and project impacts of actual or proposed changes in job codes or the job scheduler.
- System Administration: Perform installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support, and maintenance of IBM Z/OS Mainframe Automation products.
- Solution Design & Innovation: Drive innovative solution design for automation.
- Testing & Management: Conduct testing, change management, and problem management for automation solutions.
- Software Migration & Maintenance: Proficient in software migration and maintenance procedures, including install, backout, and re-migration processes.
- New Features & Patches: Possess good exposure to unsupported and new features in recent versions of automation products. Perform patching, testing, upgrades, and installations.
- Coding & Scripting: Develop code using Z/OS, REXX, COBOL, RPG, JCL, PROCS.
- Tool Proficiency: Utilize Tivoli Netview, Systems Automation for Z/OS, WAC (IBM Worldwide Automation Configurator).
- Review & Quality: Conduct peer review of changes/projects to ensure quality.
- High-Scale Automation: Focus on high-scale automation of large mainframe-based enterprises.
- Client Collaboration: Engage in client collaboration projects and technical refreshes.
- Training & Mentorship: Provide training and peering for graduates.
- General IT Knowledge: Demonstrate good overall knowledge in all facets of IT.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in IBM Z/OS Mainframe Automation products.
