Maintenance Manager - Chemical Industry

Sone India is seeking a highly experienced and strategic Maintenance Manager to oversee all maintenance activities within our chemical manufacturing facility. This role is critical for supervising daily operations, leading a skilled team, developing preventative strategies, and ensuring the optimal performance and safety of all chemical plant equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervising Maintenance Activities:

  • Overseeing the daily operations of the maintenance department, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and ensuring timely completion of maintenance and repair work.

Managing a Team:

  • Leading, training, and mentoring a team of maintenance technicians, engineers, and other staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Ensuring Safety and Compliance:

  • Implementing and enforcing safety procedures and regulations related to maintenance activities, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and compliance with relevant standards (e.g., ISO, OSHA).

Developing Maintenance Strategies:

  • Creating and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance plans to minimize equipment downtime and optimize performance.

Managing Budgets:

  • Developing and managing the maintenance budget, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost-effective maintenance practices.

Equipment Maintenance:

  • Overseeing the maintenance and repair of various equipment, including boilers, reactors, pumps, and other specialized chemical plant equipment.

Inventory Management:

  • Managing spare parts and materials inventory, ensuring timely availability of necessary components for maintenance and repairs.

Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

  • Diagnosing and resolving complex maintenance issues, implementing corrective and preventative actions to minimize downtime and improve equipment reliability.

Project Management:

  • Managing maintenance-related projects, including upgrades, installations, and overhauls, ensuring timely and efficient execution.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records, generating reports on maintenance activities, and analyzing data to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is typically required.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Significant experience in plant maintenance, preferably in a chemical manufacturing environment, with experience in a managerial or supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of chemical plant equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex maintenance issues.
  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and procedures related to chemical plant maintenance.
  • Experience in developing and managing maintenance budgets.
  • Familiarity with local regulations and safety standards applicable to chemical plants in India.
  • A good understanding of the specific equipment and processes used in the local chemical industry.
  • Ability to work effectively with local vendors and suppliers.
  • A proven track record of managing maintenance activities in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
