Seeking a Specialist with 5 to 8 years of experience in Mainframe Enterprise Cobol and DB2 to develop and maintain critical mainframe applications within the MAINFRAME COBOL CICS DB2 skill cluster

Job Description

• Develop and enhance mainframe applications using Mainframe Enterprise Cobol and DB2
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Perform code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
• Optimize and tune DB2 queries and programs for improved performance
• Participate in system analysis design and implementation activities
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe applications and databases
• Document technical specifications processes and procedures for application maintenance and support
• Stay updated with the latest mainframe technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements

Roles and Responsibilities

• Lead the development and maintenance of mainframe applications ensuring high quality and timely delivery
• Work closely with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements
• Mentor junior team members and provide technical guidance on Mainframe Enterprise Cobol and DB2
• Ensure data integrity and security in DB2 database management
• Coordinate with testing teams to plan and execute unit integration and system tests
• Manage and support production deployment activities and post deployment support
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance system efficiency and reliability
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution for mainframe systems

Mandatory Skills: Mainframe, COBOL, JCL, DB2

Nice to have Skills: Knowledge on new AI tools which are coupled with Mainframe
