Lead Software Engineer

As a Software Engineer in Commercial Solutions at Mastercard, you will work with modern full-stack development practices and tools to create world-class microservices and web applications. The role focuses on building a global B2B technology platform to help businesses streamline how they manage payments when buying or selling products and services.

You will be based in Mastercard's Pune, India technology hub, working in a collaborative, Agile engineering culture. The role is integral to Mastercard's mission to transform the B2B space by standardizing, automating, and optimizing digital payment efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the planning, design, and development of microservices
• Build and maintain full-stack applications using Angular, Java, and PCF
• Deliver high-quality, secure, and scalable code
• Participate in code reviews, retrospectives, and submit Pull Requests via Git
• Collaborate with software engineers, test engineers, TPMs, and PM-Ts
• Apply 12-factor app design principles in development
• Ensure systems comply with Mastercard engineering best practices, including security, operations, and architecture governance

Required Experience

• Bachelor's degree
• Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals
• Demonstrated leadership and collaboration abilities
• Experience with web technologies including HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and Angular
• Proficiency in Java and PCF for application development
• Experience with storage technologies such as PostgreSQL or Oracle at scale
• Familiarity with automated testing and continuous delivery using Git
• Agile team experience with a focus on continuous improvement
• Desire to learn and apply modern software architecture best practices
• Strong communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Passion for delivering high-quality software

• Experience in the commercial card space or corporate banking
