Lead Platform Engineer - Orbit Core

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the design, implementation, and support of essential platform engineering services
• Create and sustain scalable, reliable, and secure cloud-based platforms
• Lead initiatives for platform modernization and promote engineering best practices
• Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for both application delivery and infrastructure deployment
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions utilizing Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation
• Champion automation efforts to minimize manual operational tasks and enhance platform reliability
• Administer containerized environments utilizing Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift
• Implement platform observability through effective monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions
• Facilitate developer self-service capabilities and support Internal Developer Platforms (IDP)
• Establish architecture standards, governance, and security controls for the platform
• Collaborate with Software Engineering, DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), Security, and Cloud teams
• Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, platform, and deployment challenges
• Ensure compliance with high availability, disaster recovery, backup, and resilience standards
• Lead technical reviews, root cause analysis (RCA), and initiatives for platform enhancement
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance across platform teams
• Oversee platform upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management tasks
• Assist in performance optimization, capacity planning, and cost management efforts

Technical Requirements:

• Expertise in Technology Platform Engineering and Containers, specifically Kubernetes
