Overview

We are on the lookout for a skilled Senior Consultant specializing in Waste Management and Circular Economy to become a vital part of our team in India. This position will play a key role in delivering strategic advisory and technical solutions for a variety of projects, including buildings, masterplans, mixed-use developments, and extensive community initiatives.

The primary focus of this role is to integrate circular economy concepts and promote sustainable waste management strategies throughout the entire project lifecycle. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise in areas such as waste characterization, systems design, infrastructure planning, stakeholder engagement, and the integration of sustainability certifications.

Your role

  • Systems and infrastructure design: Create waste management systems and infrastructure, encompassing space planning, logistics modeling, operational workflows, collection systems, segregation areas, and processing facilities.
  • Circular design integration: Incorporate material efficiency, design for disassembly, reuse potential, adaptability, lifecycle thinking, and waste minimization principles into the design of buildings and masterplans.
  • Spatial planning and coordination: Evaluate waste system needs at both building and city levels, ensuring alignment with architecture, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP), infrastructure, environmental, and cost consultant teams.
  • Frameworks and technical guidance: Spearhead the creation of circular economy frameworks, guidance documents, and toolkits that adhere to international best practices, including ISO 20887, ISO 59004/59010, BS 8001, and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation framework.
  • Project requirements: Establish clear design and technical specifications for circularity, embedding these within project briefs, specifications, and delivery documentation.
  • Waste audits and characterization: Conduct remote waste audits and characterization studies utilizing industry-standard methodologies, such as waste composition analysis, generation forecasting, and infrastructure capacity planning.
  • Forecasting and analysis: Create waste forecasting models to estimate waste volumes, composition, infrastructure needs, operational requirements, and lifecycle costs.
  • Tools, templates, and supplier intelligence: Develop and maintain a regional supplier and technology database, and standardize method statements, templates, and technical specifications for consistent application across projects.
  • Strategy and advisory: Lead the formulation of waste management and circular economy strategies for buildings, masterplans, and community-scale projects, translating circular economy principles into actionable solutions.
  • Integrated waste planning: Formulate strategies that encompass waste minimization, source segregation, recycling, recovery, and treatment options in accordance with regional regulations and global best practices.
  • Client engagement and thought leadership: Collaborate with clients and stakeholders, translating technical concepts into straightforward recommendations, and providing insights into emerging waste and circular economy practices.
  • Business development and team leadership: Assist with proposals, case studies, and client presentations while offering guidance, direction, and mentorship to junior team members.
