Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Operations Leadership & Management:
- Lead day-to-day operations of the Global Solutions Center (GSC) with a focus on high operational efficiency, maintaining strong MOS (Management Operating System).
- Balance resource allocation and prioritization based on SIOP (Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning) meetings, ensuring smooth decision-making and high accountability.
- Ensure 24x7 decision-making, minimizing manual interventions through automation and process standardization.
- Drive the automation initiatives based on business needs, ensuring the scalability and efficiency of the center's operations.
Data Science & Insights:
- Lead the team in developing innovative solutions using ProSight for Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA), time series data analysis, and model deployment.
- Apply predictive analytics, machine learning, and data mining techniques to handle unstructured data and provide technical insights.
- Oversee the creation of operational dashboards and next-gen monitoring tools using AI/ML to optimize performance and ensure sustainability.
Customer-Centric Focus & Problem Resolution:
- Respond to customer requests swiftly, resolving ambiguous technical needs, earning trust, and showing accountability for problem resolution.
- Provide readily available technical solutions, liaising closely with technical service teams for escalations when necessary.
- Ensure continuous upkeep of solutions by troubleshooting PM/PTA/Exception-Based Alerts/Benchmarking, ensuring the high availability of systems and operations.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Lead efforts to innovate and enhance existing systems through machine learning, predictive analytics, and exception-based analytics for superior service delivery.
- Drive process development and creative, customer-centric solutions, fostering an environment of continuous learning and research within the team.
- Lead efforts to enhance operational quality through automated predictive analytics and efficient data processing pipelines.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Guide a dynamic team of professionals, ensuring high productivity, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Foster a culture of problem-solving, empowering team members to work independently or collaboratively, and focusing on SMART data results.
- Maintain an agile mindset, ensuring team flexibility to handle shifts or urgent demands while managing high customer expectations.
Operational Excellence & Efficiency:
- Prioritize resources to ensure high resource utilization and billability while minimizing costs.
- Apply optimization analytics and simulation algorithms to improve operations and eliminate bottlenecks in processes.
- Ensure that operational strategies align with GSC Key Results, meeting both business and customer requirements.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 12+ years of experience in technical service, process operation, or engineering/monitoring roles within refining and petrochemical industries.
- Hands-on experience in performing Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and time series forecasting using tools like ProSight.
- Strong technical proficiency in data science, including descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics using advanced algorithms like machine learning and optimization.
- Proficiency in handling large data sets, conducting data cleanup, and applying automated predictive analytics.
- Excellent leadership, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to multi-task effectively and respond to urgent customer requests in a fast-paced environment.
