Java Software Engineer

Summary:

The Java Software Engineer will design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality software solutions, leveraging modern Java-based technologies within an agile delivery model.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop, test, and deploy scalable backend solutions using Java and Spring Boot.
• Engage in requirements evaluation, technical design, and architecture discussions.
• Create and connect RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Carry out unit, integration, and automated testing in line with TDD/BDD practices.
• Lead code reviews and ensure consistent compliance with coding standards and best practices.
• Partner with DevOps and support teams to monitor systems, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, including build, release, and deployment activities.
• Mentor junior engineers and help drive ongoing team skill development.
• Coordinate efficiently across distributed agile scrum teams.

Required Skills:

• Strong hands-on proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with microservices, service-oriented architecture, and RESTful web services.
• Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), including Lambda, ECS, S3, SNS, Kinesis, and CloudWatch.
• Experience with Docker-based containerization.
• Proficiency with relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, and Snowflake.
• Familiarity with API testing and documentation tools such as Swagger and Postman.
• Strong understanding of the software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
• Experience with GitHub, branching strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern AI-assisted development tools.
• Demonstrated dedication to code quality, performance, reliability, and maintainability.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing, including unit and integration testing.
• Knowledge of application performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage timelines, surface risks, and provide consistent status updates.
• Collaborative mindset and ability to succeed in fast-paced environments.

Education & Qualifications:

• Bachelor&rsquos degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 4&ndash6 years of professional software development experience, primarily supporting Java-based systems.
