Java Backend Developer

Responsibilities and Deliverables:

• Design and develop new features and solutions that support customer use cases in existing and new software products
• Implement security best practices and protocols throughout the software development lifecycle
• Participate in agile team practices, focusing on continuous improvement in planning, estimating, and development
• Deliver sprint goals by proactively identifying and addressing obstacles with stakeholders
• Build scalable, high-performing software across multiple technology stacks
• Contribute to the evolution and stewardship of development processes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Architects, QA, and Product Management
• Stay current with trends in Java development, database modeling, and cybersecurity

Technical Competencies

Required:

• Experience developing large-scale Java microservices using Spring Boot, Java, databases, and AWS
• Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL databases, and RESTful web services
• In-depth knowledge of security practices including authentication, encryption, and vulnerability assessments
• Familiarity with UI/UX principles and object-oriented programming concepts
• Experience working in TDD/BDD and CI/CD environments
• Hands-on experience with messaging queues like Kafka or RabbitMQ

Preferred:

• Understanding of microservice architecture and containerization concepts
• Exposure to tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Interest in DevOps culture and practices
• Basic knowledge of serverless architecture, JavaScript, and shell scripting
