IT&DATA Sr. Product Analyst Finance Accounting

Job Overview:

• Act as the principal functional liaison between Finance business stakeholders and SAP delivery teams, supporting the Product Owner in Finance Consolidation Reporting, with an emphasis on Central Finance.
• This role autonomously challenges and verifies functional design choices, integration decisions, finance data structures, testing processes, and deployment outcomes across CFIN and the interconnected Finance ecosystem.
• Address the existing internal capability gap by leveraging prior hands-on SAP Finance project experience to develop internal validation governance and business-oriented expertise.
• Given the potential impact on the global Finance model, reporting consistency, master data structures, and multiple integrated systems, this is classified as an L8 role, necessitating proven judgment and autonomy.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Core Duties
• Collaborate with the squad Product Owner to identify and prioritize business requirements for Finance Consolidation, statutory and management reporting, and the evolution of Central Finance.
• Convert intricate reporting and accounting requirements into concise functional expectations, user stories, acceptance criteria, and validation protocols.
• Critically assess and validate functional designs, data structure mappings, integration choices, and testing evidence generated by project delivery or AMS teams within CFIN and SAP FI CO.
• Evaluate the implications of proposed modifications on the global Themis model, organizational structures, General Ledger, controlling objects, Finance Master Data, and downstream reporting.
• Offer senior functional expertise on Record to Report processes, financial closing, accounting consolidation, and reporting dependencies.
• Operational Delivery Responsibilities
• Ensure that delivered solutions align with business requirements, design principles, control expectations, data quality standards, and agreed acceptance criteria prior to deployment.
• Lead comprehensive impact assessments across CFIN, Themis, SAP S/4HANA environments, source systems, master data, and reporting or analytics solutions.
• Examine defects, incidents, and enhancement proposals, determine root causes, and propose scalable solutions that safeguard the global model.
• Assist with implementation and deployment efforts through design reviews, testing strategies, reconciliation, cutover readiness, knowledge transfer, and post-go-live stabilization.
• Maintain decision records and functional documentation to ensure essential CFIN and Finance reporting knowledge remains within the organization.
• Stakeholder Collaboration Responsibilities
• Serve as the intermediary between Finance stakeholders and chapter functional technical teams, ensuring that accounting and reporting needs are effectively translated into sustainable SAP solutions.
• Facilitate discussions on design and validation with Finance Product Teams, program teams, architecture, data, and external delivery partners.
• Constructively challenge external experts, highlight risks and trade-offs, and assist the Product Owner and Senior Product Owner with evidence-based recommendations.
• Mentor Product Analysts and contribute to enhancing internal SAP Finance and CFIN validation capabilities.

Technical Qualifications:

• This senior functional product role demands substantial hands-on experience in SAP Finance implementation and deployment.
• This position does not involve configuration tasks.
• The Senior Product Analyst must leverage previous delivery experience to challenge, validate, and guide the work of delivery and AMS partners, translating business process needs while protecting the Finance core model and resolving issues autonomously.
• The level of experience and independent judgment required supports the L8 seniority designation.
• Essential Qualifications
• At least 5 years of hands-on SAP Finance experience acquired through implementation, integration, or deployment projects, rather than mere theoretical knowledge or support coordination.
• Robust background in SAP FI CO functional and configuration aspects, with the capability to understand solution configurations, evaluate proposed changes, and identify functional or integration risks.
• In-depth knowledge of Finance and Accounting processes, including Record to Report, financial closing, postings, controls, and master data dependencies.
• Demonstrated ability to review, challenge, and validate functional designs, configuration choices, test evidence, and deployment deliverables from both internal and external delivery teams.
• Experience in converting complex business requirements into functional solutions and articulating constraints, impacts, and trade-offs to Finance stakeholders.
• Experience in identifying end-to-end dependencies across SAP Finance and integrated modules or applications.
• Ability to work independently, make recommendations, escalate significant risks, and effectively bridge communication between business stakeholders, Product Owners, project teams, AMS, and external partners.
• Strong skills in stakeholder management, facilitation, structured problem-solving, and clear written and verbal communication.

Additional Experience:

• Overall experience of 7 years in SAP Finance delivery, functional consulting, Finance transformation, or product-related roles.
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on SAP FI CO experience in implementation, integration, or deployment projects, including direct participation in configuration, functional design, testing, and go-live activities.
• Prior experience with Central Finance or SAP S/4HANA is advantageous.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, Business Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in SAP FI CO, SAP S/4HANA Finance, SAP Central Finance, business analysis, product management, or Agile methodologies are beneficial but not mandatory.
