Job description

The IT Applications Specialist SAP BW primary responsibilities are :

• Design, develop, and maintain SAP BW data models, data sources, and data transformation processes.
• Implement and configure SAP BW solutions to meet business requirements and objectives.
• Conduct data analysis and profiling to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
• Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Design and optimize SAP BW queries and reports for performance and usability.
• Support end-users with troubleshooting, issue resolution, and training on SAP BW functionalities.
• Participate in SAP BW system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements as required.
• Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and new features in SAP BW and related technologies.
• Support different kinds of projects within the SAP environment.

Profile/Competencies

Education, background, level of experience

Essential

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. SAP certification in BW is a plus.
• Strong proficiency in SAP BW data modeling, extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Experience with SAP BW tools and technologies, including SAP BW/4HANA, SAP Business Objects, SAP Data Services, and SAP HANA.
• Knowledge of SAP ECC (ERP Central Component) modules and integration with SAP BW.
• Proficiency in SAP BW query design, reporting tools (such as SAP Business Explorer, SAP Analysis for Office), and data visualization techniques.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data governance principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and recommend solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Prior experience with SAP BW implementation projects, including full lifecycle implementations and system integration.
• Experience with SAP BW on SAP HANA, SAP BW/4HANA migration projects, and SAP BW data modeling in a cloud environment (e.g., SAP BW/4HANA on AWS or Azure).
• Knowledge of SAP BW security concepts, authorization roles, and user management.
• Familiarity with SAP BW performance tuning, optimization techniques, and SAP BW system administration tasks.
• Fluent or native English speaker
• Ability to listen and learn from his/her team as well as from peers of the Group but also to change the current ways of operating
• Ability to prioritise workload and work well under pressure to meet deadlines and manage business expectations
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
• Willing to travel (if required)
