Job Description

The Head of Procurement will play a strategic leadership role in managing and optimizing procurement operations within a dynamic e-commerce environment. Reporting to the CFO, this position is responsible for developing procurement strategies, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, managing supplier relationships, and leading a high-performing procurement team.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive procurement strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Ensure scalability and efficiency to support business growth.

Vendor Management

  • Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers for best terms.
  • Conduct rigorous supplier assessments to ensure quality and compliance.

Cost Optimization

  • Monitor procurement processes to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities.
  • Lead contract negotiations and manage procurement budgets effectively.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Resolve issues proactively and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Inventory Collaboration

  • Coordinate with inventory teams to ensure optimal stock levels.
  • Reduce carrying costs and avoid stockouts through efficient planning.

Compliance & Ethics

  • Ensure all procurement activities are compliant with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Promote sustainability and ethical sourcing in procurement practices.

Team Leadership

  • Supervise, coach, and mentor a team of procurement professionals.
  • Cultivate a high-performance culture focused on innovation and excellence.

Risk Mitigation

  • Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks such as supply disruptions and price volatility.

Reporting

  • Present comprehensive reports on procurement KPIs, savings, and performance to senior management.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years of procurement/supply chain experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in e-commerce or fast-paced industries.

Key Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of procurement best practices and current market trends.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with procurement software/tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa).
  • Proven leadership and team-building capabilities.
  • Data-driven decision-making and reporting proficiency.
