Job Description
General Summary:
Qualcomm, a global leader in wireless technology and semiconductor innovation, is seeking an experienced Senior Hardware Engineer to design, verify, and optimize electronic systems for advanced products in mobile, automotive, compute, and IoT. This role encompasses design and testing of complex Digital/Analog/RF/Optical systems, FPGAs, DSPs, and high-performance hardware platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative hardware solutions that drive industry-leading products.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or related field and 6+ years of hardware engineering experience
- OR
- Master's degree in the same fields and 5+ years of experience
- OR
- PhD and 4+ years of experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in a relevant engineering discipline
- 12+ years of hardware design experience, including:
- 3+ years in digital, analog, or RF circuit/logic design and validation
- 3+ years working with schematic capture and simulation tools
- 3+ years experience using hardware measurement instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, RF tools, etc.)
- 1+ year in a technical leadership capacity
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and contribute to design, simulation, and optimization of highly complex electronic systems across multiple domains (Digital, Analog, RF, Optical).
- Drive hardware bring-up, test, validation, and yield improvement efforts using industry-leading tools and methodologies.
- Lead or co-lead the implementation of advanced design rules and processes, ensuring optimal Power, Performance, and Area (PPA) trade-offs.
- Collaborate across functional domains including design, validation, architecture, and systems to meet product requirements and milestones.
- Drive development and evaluation of next-generation manufacturing solutions using cutting-edge process technologies.
- Conduct detailed reliability analysis of critical materials and hardware subsystems; propose and lead innovations for automation and productivity improvement.
- Mentor junior engineers, provide technical direction, and review documentation and design implementations for quality and compliance.
- Write, review, and maintain comprehensive technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
