GIS Senior Developer

Job Description:

• We are seeking a candidate with a robust background in utility and GIS domains to take on a techno-functional lead role in the implementation of GIS solutions for Electric and Gas Utilities, specifically utilizing ESRI platforms
• The ideal candidate will possess experience in deploying GIS solutions within the North American Utilities sector
• Experience with other GIS systems will be considered a valuable asset
• Candidates with a strong development background in the Esri application suite will be prioritized for this role

Key Responsibilities:

• Must be capable of building, testing, and deploying solutions using ESRI ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, Javascript API, HTML5, Type Script, React JS, ArcGIS Online Web App Builder, and ArcGIS Mobile
• Should stay updated with the latest technological advancements in the GIS industry and the Esri solutions roadmap
• Ability to translate customer requirements into product features and propose workaround solutions
• Must guide developers in troubleshooting development-related issues
• Key focus areas include Javascript API, HTML5, Type Script, Silverlight API, and ArcGIS Runtime development platforms such as Xamarin and Java
• Develop GIS-based Proofs of Concept (POCs) to illustrate concepts and present demonstrations to business users
• Responsible for designing forms, workflows, and portlets, as well as integrating with necessary systems
• Expertise in mobile platform solution development is essential
• Must be capable of resolving issues during the support phase post-Go Live
• Assist the Testing team with identifying functional areas for testing
• The candidate should be a collaborative team player, ready to assist the project team with any functional or technical challenges that may arise
• Participate in both internal and client project review meetings
• Willingness to learn new GIS technologies as required

Technical Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 to 6 years of overall IT industry experience, with a minimum of 3 years dedicated to implementing GIS solutions based on ESRI
• Proficiency in programming with Java Script and Type Script is essential
• Knowledge of the Electric and Gas Transmission and Distribution domains is required
• Strong interpersonal communication and analytical skills are necessary
• Excellent soft skills are mandatory
• Willingness to travel to client sites as required
• Preferred qualifications include:
• Expertise in writing Stored Procedures and Functions in PL SQL for Oracle
• Experience with Oracle Spatial databases
• Familiarity with ETL tools such as FME
