Job Description
- Use GIS software to analyse spatial and non-spatial information.
- GIS experts enter GIS databases such as spreadsheet files of latitudinal and longitudinal coordinates, aerial or satellite imagery, tabular data, manual digitizing of images of maps.
- They ensure the accurate documentation of parameters and context of GIS data.
- GIS experts are responsible for creating thematic maps for educational and environmental purposes. Individuals perform geospatial modelling or spatial analysis.
- They analyze a wide range of areas that includes health, city government, transportation, urban planning, geology, archaeology, and marketing.
- GIS experts use the GIS system to route emergency and fleet vehicles.
