Job Description
Job Description:
- We are looking for skilled Mechanical Integrity Engineers with substantial knowledge in Stress Analysis and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to uphold the structural integrity and reliability of aerospace components.
- This position entails comprehensive mechanical analysis across various engine commodities and facilitates the entire product development lifecycle, from initial concept through in-service support and eventual disposal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Core Responsibilities
- Conduct stress analysis and FEA simulations to verify the mechanical integrity of components, including fans, compressors, casings, combustors, turbines, and structures.
- Utilize FEA software such as Abaqus, Ansys, and LS Dyna to forecast mechanical behavior under diverse loading conditions, encompassing fatigue, low and high cycle, creep, vibration, thermal loads, and extreme scenarios like blade out, over speed, and burst duct conditions.
- Perform mechanical integrity evaluations to guarantee product durability and adherence to design specifications.
- Enhance in-service engine safety through detailed stress analysis and mechanical assessments.
- Lead Design of Experiments (DoE) and mechanical testing to confirm stress predictions and bolster design reliability.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to ensure designs fulfill performance, manufacturability, cost, and weight objectives.
- Establish and implement analysis plans that align with project timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
- Propose design enhancements based on Robust Engineering principles and insights from stress analysis.
- Foster continuous improvement in FEA methodologies, stress analysis practices, and mechanical integrity tools.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in stress analysis and FEA, disseminating knowledge across engineering disciplines.
Technical Requirements:
- Required Technical Skills
- Extensive experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) utilizing tools like Abaqus, Ansys, and LS Dyna.
- Expertise in stress analysis, mechanical behavior forecasting, and failure mechanism assessment.
- Familiarity with meshing software such as Hypermesh and Unigraphics, as well as data management systems like Teamcenter.
- Solid understanding of material science, crack propagation, contact mechanics, and thermo-mechanical fatigue.
- Capability to convey complex FEA and stress analysis findings to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Awareness of aerospace product integrity, liability, and certification standards.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Structural Engineering (BE, BTech, MSc, MEng).
- 5 to 8 years of practical experience in FEA, stress analysis, and mechanical integrity within the aerospace sector or related fields.
