Summary:
AECOMis seeking an Environmental Chemist Data Validation to be part of our Enterprise Capabilities team and based in Bengaluru India. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of both in office and remote work schedules.
Roles and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Review and validate laboratory data packages by United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) guidance to ensure compliance with published analytical methods and usability of environmental data.
- Upload laboratory analytical data to specific client and regulatory databases.
- Manage data in relational database systems like EarthSoft EQuIS, Locus EIM, MS Access, or other environment databases.
- Prepare technical memoranda and white papers to be included in client deliverables.
- Implement innovation and automation tools produced by the team.
- Task management: Manage workloads assigned by chemistry staff within stipulated time. Should be flexible with working hours to support other geographical regions
- Proficient in Level 2 and 3 data validation. Experience in Level 4 validation is a value add for this role, but not mandatory.
- The project chemist will support quality assurance/quality control, data management, data analysis, and various analytical chemistry aspects of environmental investigations for our clients.
- The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, developing their technical skills as a chemist while exploring new interests as well.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Successful candidate(s) will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related discipline
- 3+years of relevant experience in a Quality control laboratory and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
- The ideal candidate will be able to understand requests from environmental subject matter experts.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of environmental chemistry principles.
- Knowledge of analytical chemistry principles (i.e., quality assurance and quality control)
- Familiarity with data validation, data review, field screening, data management, and sampling plans.
- Experience using relational databases such as EQuIS or Microsoft Access.
- Should be proficient in data validation and understand the valid qualifiers and reason codes.
- Knowledge or experience with the analytical challenges presented by per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).
- Experience performing chemical analysis (Quality control) in an academic or commercial setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters degree in chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related discipline
- 3-5 years+ of relevant experience in a Quality control laboratory and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
