Overview

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager – Flammability Certification to lead certification activities related to flammability compliance across aerospace products. This role will be responsible for driving certification strategy, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading cross-functional teams, and building organizational capability in flammability engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Certification Strategy

• Lead flammability certification activities in compliance with regulatory standards such as FAA / EASA (FAR/CS 25.853)
• Define certification strategies for new product development and engineering modifications
• Interpret regulatory requirements and convert them into engineering and testing plans
• Provide technical guidance on flammability compliance, testing methodologies, and certification documentation

Team Leadership & Capability Building

• Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams across functions and locations
• Build technical capability in flammability testing, compliance, and certification
• Drive team performance, succession planning, and capability development initiatives
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning

Program Execution

• Plan and manage certification activities aligned with overall program timelines
• Collaborate with design, materials, testing laboratories, and certification stakeholders
• Ensure timely delivery of certification reports, compliance documents, and approvals
• Track project milestones, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful execution

Stakeholder Management

• Interface with internal stakeholders, DERs, testing agencies, and certification authorities
• Support customer audits, compliance reviews, and regulatory discussions
• Participate in program reviews and provide technical recommendations for critical decisions
• Ensure effective communication across engineering and business teams

Process & Quality Excellence

• Establish and improve standard work, engineering processes, and certification best practices
• Ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and documentation processes
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and support digital engineering adoption where applicable
• Contribute towards process optimization and operational efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
• 10+ years of experience in aerospace engineering with strong exposure to certification and flammability compliance
• Strong understanding of FAA, EASA, FAR/CS 25.853 regulatory requirements
• Proven experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex certification programs
• Strong technical problem-solving and stakeholder management capabilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with certification authorities and DERs
• Exposure to aircraft interiors, seating systems, or materials engineering
• Familiarity with digital engineering, AI-enabled certification, or simulation-based certification approaches
• Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills
