Engineering Manager

Job Overview:

• Infosys seeks a seasoned Engineering Manager to oversee and cultivate a high-performing Data Engineering team dedicated to supporting large-scale global digital transformation and data initiatives.
• This leadership role emphasizes team management, engineering project delivery, stakeholder engagement, and capability enhancement.
• The Engineering Manager will be accountable for ensuring the successful and quality-driven execution of projects, managing team capacity, mentoring engineers, and promoting best practices across distributed teams worldwide.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Guarantee the on-time, high-quality completion of data engineering projects and initiatives.
• Recruit, mentor, and oversee the performance and professional development of data engineers.
• Act as the main point of contact for the GDDS team, ensuring effective communication and alignment with the Engineering Chapter Director, Regional Engineering Managers, Leaders in Europe, Americas, Asia Pacific, Solution Architects, Product Managers, and Product Owners.
• Promote the adoption of engineering best practices and agile methodologies within the team.
• Optimize team capacity and resource allocation to balance new project demands with ongoing maintenance tasks.
• Cultivate a unified and collaborative team environment across offshore and onshore locations.

Technical Qualifications:

• Core Skills
• Demonstrated leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire team members to deliver exceptional results.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in data engineering or cloud engineering delivery, with a proven history of managing complex cloud deployments utilizing technologies such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Hands-on experience with agile project management methodologies.
• Nice to Have
• Basic knowledge of data engineering practices, technologies, architecture principles, and modern data stack concepts such as data modeling.
