Engineer I/II (Mechanical, WWTP)

Overview

We’re looking for a driven Mechanical Engineer with 3 to 7 years of experience to join our Water Infrastructure team. In this role, you’ll take part in practical engineering work designing mechanical equipment and systems that support water and wastewater treatment and distribution infrastructure.

Your role

• Lead and direct teams completing technical design work in line with applicable design standards and codes, delivering outputs to high-quality levels.
• Develop project briefs, scopes of work, and lead bid proposals.
• Manage time and budgets to deliver on key project milestones and programmes.
• Collaborate with teams across the UK and overseas to produce integrated design solutions.
• Set and maintain design quality assurance standards.
• Build, grow, develop and manage electrical engineering capability within the practice.
• Bring comprehensive expertise in mechanical equipment, including pumps, blowers, screens and chemical dosing plant, along with in-depth knowledge of current UK & US design standards and working practices.
• Demonstrate strong technical leadership across multidisciplinary delivery.
• Maintain a winning work mindset to expand AtkinsRéalis' client portfolio.
• Work on and develop digital design tools, including unit process sizing and other automated design tools.
• Produce technical reports at all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Communicate with clients across the UK, Middle East, Hong Kong, USA, Canada, etc.
• Understand WIMES, British, European and American Standards, and other statutory, regulatory and non-regulatory provisions and guidance.
• Meet and exceed project quality, programme, budgetary and H&S requirements.
• Contribute to new innovative ideas and make suggestions for innovation.
• Opportunity to present your project work at company meetings or at conferences.
• Coordinate with wider teams on multidisciplinary projects
  
  

About You

• B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. M.Tech would be preferred.
• Experience in owning design delivery, including multidisciplinary design.
• US, UK & Middle East water industry experience.
